 EVERGLADES REDFISHING

Everglades-Redfish.jpg

Redfish call the Everglades home year round and their willingness to take flies and lures makes them one of our favorite fish to target.

Redfish can be found all over Southwest Florida - from the beaches and the passes, to the creeks and ponds of the backcountry. We see them in schools on grass flats as well as singles and small groups crawling and tailing our shorelines looking for their next meal. Occasionally, redfish can be picky, but are generally eager feeders and will eat almost every prey species that gets a little too close to their business end. They are known to eat a crab on the bottom then turn around and smash a mullet on the surface which allows us to target them with a variety of flies and lures.
